The project «Direction» is my social experiment where photography has become a tool for exploring human connections. It was born in the chaos of forced relocation from my hometown Donetsk to an unfamiliar Kyiv, and it has become a way for me to find support and new connections. Every day, wandering through the city with my camera, I asked passersby for directions, subtly photographing them. And although I knew very little about the city, I always asked for one and the same address—my own. Over time, I realized that I was not just looking for an address, but for my home. This project is a tribute to random encounters, proof that even in the most challenging times, one can find light and warmth in communication with others.
I created a series of portraits that reflect the diversity and warmth of Ukrainian society. This project is an attempt to understand how we build new connections in an unfamiliar environment and how a city becomes our home.
